With recruitment and staff retention being recognised as areas of significant concern in the Aged Care sector right across the country, Finley Regional Care have committed to recruiting a further six staff from Kiribati and have joined the Groworx program to recruit, train and develop qualified care staff from the Philippines.
The Recruitment Plan for the six staff from Kiribati has been approved by the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme. We hope to be mobilising staff in August to fill staffing gaps. Interviews have been conducted and letters of offer have been sent to all applicants. Visa applications will commence in the following week for the Kiribati cohort.
Training is well underway in the Philippines for 16 Groworx recruits, where each recruit is being trained to Australian standards and is completing their Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing). We expect our Philippines cohort to be arriving in November, and look forward to the additional support that they will bring to both our staff and residents.
